About the Role

Salla, a rapidly expanding e-commerce platform in the MENA region, is seeking a Category Manager – Mahally. This role is based in Jeddah, Makkah Province, and is a full-time position. The Category Manager will play a crucial role in driving category performance and contributing directly to Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).

Role Overview

The Category Manager is responsible for defining product assortments, analyzing sales data, curating top-performing products, and developing product lists for major campaigns. This position requires close collaboration with marketing and growth teams to execute campaigns effectively. The decisions made by the Category Manager will have a direct impact on GMV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop product lists for key campaigns including Ramadan, White Friday, National Day, Eids, and Back to School.
  • Curate and feature top-performing products from Salla merchants.
  • Identify winning products and merchants, and improve overall listing health.
  • Coordinate with marketing and growth teams to support campaign execution.
  • Analyze category performance, identify market trends, opportunities, and gaps.
  • Monitor competitor marketplaces and adjust category strategies accordingly.
  • Manage key traffic drivers for the category, including Search, Email, SEO, and Affiliates.
  • Collaborate with the CRM team on email segmentation, targeting, and product list creation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in category management or marketplace operations within large-scale e-commerce platforms, with a demonstrated ability to drive category performance and GMV growth.
  • Experience managing a large SKU count (50,000+), including product curation, listing quality maintenance, and visibility optimization for campaigns.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis, with experience using analytics/BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of traffic-driving mechanisms including Search, Email, SEO, and Affiliates, and the ability to coordinate campaigns with marketing and growth teams.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics, with the ability to analyze performance, identify trends, and adapt strategies based on competitor activity.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic and English.

Work Details

This is a full-time position located in Jeddah, Makkah Province. The required experience for this role is between 2 to 5 years.
