About the Regional Sales Director Role

NADEC Foods is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead sales operations in Jiddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience. The role is accountable for delivering sales volume and revenue across all product lines within a designated sales region, as per set monthly and yearly targets. This involves managing and strategizing sales plans for the region, and ensuring the delivery of all Sales & Merchandising KPIs across all channels and product lines.

Strategic Contribution and Planning

The Regional Sales Director will contribute strategically to the sales and distribution operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing the implementation of the annual business plan and targets, aligning with NADEC’s vision and mission.
  • Ensuring that the sales strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Sales & Distribution / Sales Operation and monitoring performance.
  • Developing, submitting, and, upon approval, implementing the Regional Sales budget.
  • Monitoring accurate budget execution, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and proposing corrective actions in case of deviations.

Sales Development and Execution

This role is central to driving sales growth and ensuring efficient execution within the region. Responsibilities include:

  • Setting regional sales targets and developing sales tactics based on past data analytics reports and market trends.
  • Setting sales KPIs (*, number of customer visits, number of closed deals, productive calls, returns, plan accuracy) and monitoring results.
  • Identifying areas of unsatisfactory performance to capitalize on potential improvement opportunities.
  • Overseeing the analysis of regional key accounts businesses and all procurement processes for the region.
  • Managing the entire sales cycle, including client profiling, account planning, lead generation, and after-sales services.
  • Ensuring discipline in sales operations and monitoring adherence to processes and systems.
  • Monitoring route plans versus achievements and discussing learnings with the team to improve route productivity and load accuracy.
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain and other functions to ensure full support and smooth operations of sales activities.
  • Devising and implementing sales execution improvement strategies and tactics.
  • Ensuring Sales Incentive schemes are relevant to the team and working with the sales HO team to maintain relevance.

Team Leadership and Performance Management

The Director will be accountable for all sales employees in the region, driving their development and optimizing their performance. Key leadership responsibilities include:

  • Directing the activities of the Sales team to ensure all work is carried out efficiently and in line with regional strategic plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Building and leading a motivated, engaged, and competent team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Serving as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to NADEC’s vision, mission, values, and corporate strategy, establishing a highly engaged and motivated team and continuously improving performance.
  • Ensuring the implementation of sales policies and safety guidelines across the regions.
  • Working with the Regional Merchandising team and Key Accounts team to ensure high-quality execution and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a strong background in sales leadership within the FMCG or food industry. Required qualifications include:

  • A graduate degree in Business or a Sales-related qualification; a postgraduate degree in Business Management is preferred.
  • 8-13 years of experience in FMCG or Product sales, preferably in the food industry.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in leading medium to large sales teams is required.
  • Strong knowledge of P&L, Sales KPIs, and conceptual clarity in sales topics are essential.
  • Certifications in Sales-related topics are an added advantage.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia is considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic sales environment, requiring collaboration across various functions to achieve regional objectives.
