Interior Design Associate Director

About the Role

TGP International is seeking an experienced and creative Interior Design Associate Director to join its studio. This is a full-time senior role within the Interior Design team, offering studio responsibility, client exposure, and direct contribution to hospitality projects. TGP International is a global hospitality consultancy with offices in London, Dubai, and Cairo, focusing on concept development, interior design, branding, advisory, and project management for hospitality experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver creative solutions across multiple small, medium, and large-scale projects simultaneously, spanning the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
• Lead projects and the creative process from concept to delivery, demonstrating a strong design narrative.
• Lead and contribute hands-on to concept development, design presentations, test fits, spatial planning, and 3D models, with a focus on guest experience and operational functionality.
• Review detailed drawing packages, finishes, and FF&E specifications to ensure technical requirements and design intent are coordinated, liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of design detailing, materials, finishes, fixtures, furniture, fabrication, and construction processes.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, makers, and industry partners.
• Take accountability for the creative and commercial delivery of projects to TGP’s quality standards.
• Maintain oversight and active involvement throughout the entire project process, from initial concept to design development, documentation, and delivery.
• Make informed decisions regarding project resourcing, priorities, workflows, and allocation of responsibilities across internal teams, including weekly resource tracking and project scheduling.
• Manage projects effectively against agreed programs, budgets, contractual scope of services, and commercial requirements.
• Identify project risks and challenges early and work proactively with the leadership team to resolve them.
• Provide clear and timely reporting to the leadership team on project progress, resourcing, and key issues.
• Foster a collaborative environment for knowledge and best practice sharing.
• Lead, mentor, and train junior team members to support their professional and creative development and maximize team performance.
• Support department resource planning, forecasting, project allocation, and ad-hoc department administration.
• Manage workloads and workflows across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring teams are supported.
• Contribute positively to TGP’s studio culture and maintain an environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.
• Proactively manage existing client relationships to maximize repeat work opportunities.
• Present creative concepts and design thinking clearly and persuasively to senior client stakeholders.
• Actively engage with opportunities to develop new business, enhancing internal and external communications via events, forums, and publications.
• Support the preparation of fee bids, RFPs, and fee negotiations on projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design.
• Proven track record of leading projects from concept to delivery with a strong design narrative.
• Ability to create world-class restaurants, bars, food halls, and hospitality destinations.
• Understanding of how design transforms guest experience.
