About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an IT Manager to provide general technology support and first- and second-level assistance for designated properties. This full-time position is based in Medina, within the Central Area District. The role involves performing repairs, installations, and maintenance for property-based systems, requiring knowledge of sophisticated technology equipment and processes.

Core Responsibilities

The IT Manager will be responsible for a range of technology-related duties to ensure smooth operations and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting IT Leadership with budget input for CAPEX and operating expenses based on IT project needs.
  • Ensuring property compliance with Marriott International Policies (MIPs) and Information Security Manuals (ISMs), implementing corrective solutions as directed.
  • Placing equipment orders for personal computers, telecommunications, and local servers/networks, and processing associated invoices.
  • Conducting periodic inventories of applications and hardware, and preparing requested reports.
  • Confirming the security of technology assets.
  • Adhering to technology-related vendor contracts.
  • Responding to customer and vendor inquiries and providing detailed status reports.
  • Assisting with disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to technology.
  • Providing technical guidance and escalating support for Marriott-approved technology solutions and processes.
  • Supporting guest and associate internet access requirements.
  • Performing desktop imaging, software installation, patching, and network drive mapping.
  • Managing PC and peripheral moves, additions, and changes, including data migration.
  • Executing routine desktop backups as scheduled.
  • Ensuring technology security measures, such as encryption and patch deployment, are in place.
  • Supporting unit infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, and access points, engaging appropriate IT and vendor resources as needed.
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of secure server environments, including performing server backups and preventative maintenance.
  • Supporting corporate, regional, and property technology initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Required: A high school diploma or GED, coupled with 2-4 years of experience in Information Technology or a related professional field.
  • Alternatively Required: A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in the field or a related professional area.
  • Preferred: System-related professional certifications are desired.

Customer and Vendor Relations

This role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include writing and presenting proposals, analyses, project plans, and cost models. The IT Manager will provide customer service to associates at designated properties, respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, and peers, and deliver detailed status reports as requested.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position located in Medina, within the Central Area District. The role operates within established guidelines to complete routine tasks, contributing general knowledge and skills in technology. The work environment requires adherence to company policies and procedures, with a focus on maintaining secure and compliant technology systems.
