Electrical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Afif, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position responsible for executing various electrical maintenance activities on plant equipment, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. The role involves working under the direction of an Electrical Supervisor or Engineer to perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance, as well as annual outage and overhauling work.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all duties are performed safely, efficiently, and effectively, complying with NOMAC safety rules and regulations.
• Execute all plant maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, adhering strictly to maintenance procedures and work instructions. Document maintenance concerns and equipment history.
• Report to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer regarding required spare parts and consumables, and update on spare parts availability to meet maintenance needs.
• Ensure proper isolations are carried out before commencing maintenance activities on assigned equipment, coordinating with the Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and perform maintenance on equipment under jurisdiction, demonstrating good knowledge of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings.
• Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair various static and rotating electrical equipment used in power and desalination plants.
• Carry out all necessary preparations for electrical maintenance to assigned equipment or areas.
• Understand the working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
• Perform 5S housekeeping in the designated work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant electrical technician role.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings.
• Strong understanding of maintenance procedures and safety regulations.

Work Environment

This role requires readiness to work in a remote location within Saudi Arabia, specifically Afif. The position is full-time, and the salary will be disclosed during the hiring process.
