About the Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a dedicated Mortuary Technician to join our team in Al-Ahsa, Eastern region. This full-time technical position is crucial for ensuring the dignified, safe, and hygienic operation of the hospital mortuary. The role involves strict adherence to established protocols and maintaining high standards of care within a critical healthcare support function.

Role Purpose

The Mortuary Technician plays a vital role in upholding public health standards and respecting deceased patients. This includes ensuring strict adherence to Ministry of Health (MOH) infection control protocols, meticulously maintaining the physical chain of custody for all deceased patients, and managing environmental safety standards within the cold storage facility. The position requires a commitment to precision, sensitivity, and compliance with all regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive deceased patients from clinical wards, verifying "Dual Identifier" tags and accurately documenting the chain of custody in the Morgue Register.
• Monitor and record temperature and humidity levels of cold chambers in accordance with established policies and procedures, reporting any deviations immediately.
• Coordinate and oversee terminal cleaning and disinfection of storage units, hydraulic lifts, and all mortuary surfaces using hospital-grade agents.
• Apply specific Ministry of Health (MOH) precautions, including appropriate shrouding and bagging, for deceased patients identified as High-Risk Infectious (*, COVID-19, MERS).
• Assist forensic authorities with body identification and sample preservation when police cases occur, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
• Physically release deceased patients to authorized family members or municipality services, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a mortuary or similar healthcare setting is required.

This full-time position is based at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) facilities in Al-Ahsa, within the Eastern region. The role operates within a hospital environment, requiring strict adherence to health and safety protocols, particularly those related to infection control and the handling of deceased patients.
