About the Role

Almoosa Health Group is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist to join their team in Al Hufuf, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity for a professional to contribute to specialized patient care within a healthcare organization.

The Speech Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders. This role involves direct patient care and contributing to the development of knowledge within Speech Pathology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate Speech Pathology services, providing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic clinical services.
  • Provide habilitation and rehabilitation for patients with swallowing disorders.
  • Manage patients with various speech disorders, including articulation, nasality, and dysarthria.
  • Treat patients with voice disorders, encompassing organic, functional, and psychogenic vocal disorders.
  • Address language cognitive, oral muscular, and augmentative communication problems.
  • Assess and administer treatment for dysfluency difficulties.
  • Treat patients with language disorders resulting from specific brain injuries, such as dysphasia.
  • Provide therapy to special populations, including children with hearing impairment, autism, and cerebral palsy.
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate resources and knowledge within the area of clinical expertise.
  • Participate in monitoring the allocation of Speech Pathologists, SCDPs, and interns in clinical areas.
  • Coordinate caseloads and advise on policy and procedures within the area of specialty.
  • Participate in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate departmental educational activities.
  • Develop and disseminate patient educational materials and organize/participate in patient and health educational activities within the hospital and community.
  • Participate in developing and implementing training programs for staff, including organizing orientation and continuing education programs for subordinate staff and managing the internship program for students.
  • Provide practical training activities and assignments, maintaining responsibility for trainee evaluation.
  • Conduct and participate in research studies related to Speech Pathology performed in the hospital, as required.
  • Involve parents and caregivers in the treatment, review, and rehabilitation of patients.
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on how to prevent and/or improve their conditions.
  • Write patient case notes and reports, and collect statistics.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about patient background and progress, and to refer patients requiring other medical attention.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Speech Pathology or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Speech Pathology.
