About the Role

ACCEL International - Ajyal Center is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join its team in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Saudi Arabia. ACCEL International Inc. Saudi for Education is committed to empowering individuals with special needs and developmental disabilities through comprehensive educational, behavioral, therapeutic, and vocational programs. The center aims to equip individuals with the essential skills for successful, dignified, and independent lives. Established in September 2019 in partnership with Saudi Aramco, ACCEL is a pioneering initiative in the Kingdom, delivering high-quality therapeutic and educational services with a focus on fostering dignity and self-worth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen students to identify speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties, and determine the need for further assessment and referral.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, and social communication skills, ensuring cultural and linguistic appropriateness.
  • Assess the need for and requirements of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and devices as a mode of communication.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for speech and language services, incorporating goals for social communication, literacy development, self-regulation, and social interaction skills to support mainstream curriculum participation.
  • Develop home-based intervention plans and provide essential family support and guidance.
  • Deliver speech and language therapy services and maintain accurate, detailed documentation of student progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and members of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) multidisciplinary team to determine and implement appropriate educational and therapeutic services.
  • Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary classroom models to support student success.
  • Counsel students and their families on communication-related concerns, providing education, training, and support.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited institution in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Possess a valid license to practice from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical and/or educational Speech Language Pathology experience serving children and adolescents.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is required.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in assessing and treating speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and addressing feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and assistive technology.
  • Skilled in assessing and developing social communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement literacy development goals.
  • Competence in supporting self-regulation and social interaction skills.
  • Experience in developing and delivering home-based intervention plans.
  • Strong capabilities in providing family support and guidance.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including IEP teams and interdisciplinary classroom settings.
  • Proficiency in counseling students and families on communication-related concerns.

Work Environment and Additional Information

This is a full-time position located in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Saudi Arabia. The role requires 5-10 years of experience. Preferred qualifications include professional certification from an accredited Speech and Language Association (*, ASHA) and First Aid and CPR Certification.
