About the Role

TASNEE is seeking an Engineer II, Rotating, to join their team in Al Jubail. This full-time role involves troubleshooting, process improvement, and maintenance modifications for rotating equipment. The position requires independent work, generic process design on specific technologies, and collaboration with external entities. The successful candidate will also lead small teams on minor projects.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Engineer II, Rotating, will participate in work programs and budgetary planning. This role involves solving problems and making decisions based on variations of standardized procedures, requiring specialist professional expertise. It demands strong planning and analytical skills, along with the ability to interpret data to reach optimal conclusions. The position also includes mentoring junior staff and supervising their work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply planning and analytical skills to interpret data and derive optimal conclusions.
  • Troubleshoot chronic issues impacting equipment and plant availability.
  • Provide first-line supervision and serve as a technical reference for Fresh and Area Rotating Engineers, as well as assigned technicians.
  • Resolve plant performance issues by forming cross-functional teams and seeking senior guidance.
  • Prepare routine and non-routine reports.
  • Stay informed about all maintenance strategies and developments.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in troubleshooting, engineering, and life assessment studies, focusing on polymer plant major rotating equipment such as extruders and high-pressure reciprocating compressors (*, HYPER compressors).
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in troubleshooting, engineering, and life assessment studies for turbo machinery major rotating equipment, including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors (*, MITSUBISHI compressors), and gas turbines (*, SIEMENS SGT600).
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of vibration analysis, including reading vibration signatures and basic analysis.
  • Analyze oil analysis reports, challenge third-party reports, and formulate conclusions and recommendations.
  • Conduct reliability studies on rotating equipment to identify weaknesses and opportunities for productivity and availability improvements.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major machine failures, demonstrating hands-on skills with proven cases.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and implement process improvements or maintenance modifications.
  • Proven capability to perform generic process design independently.

Required Skills

  • Strong planning and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in data interpretation to achieve optimal conclusions.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and supervise their work.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and life assessment studies for various rotating equipment.
