Engineer OpEx Project Control & Reporting

About the Role

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail is seeking an Engineer, OpEx Project Control & Reporting to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position is a critical governance role within the OpEx department, responsible for ensuring the integrity of project data and transforming raw industrial data into strategic intelligence for executive decision-making. The role reports to the Head of PMO and serves as the financial and analytical conscience of the department, ensuring projects are financially viable, accurately tracked, and transparently reported.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and maintenance of real-time digital dashboards (OEx "Control Towers") to monitor portfolio health across all OEx departments.
• Consolidate complex datasets to produce weekly and monthly "Industrial Performance Governance" reports for the COEO and Executive Leadership.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to conduct pre-gate cost-benefit analyses and ROI simulations for project viability.
• Systematically track project progress, scope compliance, and actual spending (CAPEX/OPEX) against baselines, identifying fiscal variances.
• Work with Project Managers to engineer data-driven mitigation plans for cost overruns and schedule slippages (SPI/CPI intervention).
• Enforce project accounting protocols, ensuring Project Managers utilize unified financial templates and standardized KPIs.
• Serve as the internal auditor for the Continuous Improvement pipeline, ensuring projects are properly triggered, prioritized, and executed within the OEx framework.
• Provide data-driven insights into project risks, translating technical bottlenecks and schedule delays into "Financial Impact" projections.
• Execute post-implementation audits to verify that completed projects delivered promised industrial performance and technical ROI.
• Support research and deployment of advanced project management tools (AI-analytics, automated forecasting) to enhance OEx execution precision.
• Contribute to the "Lessons Learned" repository, structuring technical insights for future industrialization cycles.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in project control, reporting, or a similar analytical role within an industrial or operational excellence environment.
• Demonstrated ability to transform raw industrial data into strategic intelligence.
• Experience with cost-benefit analyses, ROI simulations, and financial tracking against baselines.
• Familiarity with project accounting protocols and KPI standardization.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data consolidation and reporting.
• Ability to design and maintain digital dashboards for portfolio monitoring.
• Proficiency in identifying fiscal variances and engineering mitigation plans.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with Project Managers and Executive Leadership.

Work Environment

This role is based in Al Jubail, Eastern, and operates on a full-time basis within the OpEx department, reporting directly to the Head of PMO.
