Additionally, the company manages a showroom for marine accessories, spare parts, fishing and diving equipment, government supply and tenders, and vessel operations and charter.

The Role of FRP & Painting Technician

Alboom Marine Saudi Arabia is seeking an FRP & Painting Technician to join its team in Al Jubail. This full-time role focuses on the repair, refinishing, and maintenance of boat hulls and decks, with a primary emphasis on fiberglass (FRP) repair, gelcoat application, antifouling, and marine painting. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect hull and deck damage, then report the scope of repair and required materials to the supervisor.
• Perform FRP repairs, including grinding, laminating, core repair, filling, fairing, and finishing.
• Execute gelcoat repair, color matching, wet sanding, polishing, and buffing.
• Conduct surface preparation for painting, including sanding, masking, degreasing, and priming.
• Apply antifouling, primers, topside, and deck paints according to manufacturer specifications, utilizing both roller and spray techniques.
• Apply and remove waterline and boot stripes, decals, and non-skid coatings.
• Remove and refit deck hardware, rails, cleats, hatches, and through-hulls with correct sealing.
• Handle resins, catalysts, paints, and solvents safely, utilizing appropriate PPE, respirators, and ventilation.
• Record materials used and labor hours on job cards.
• Guide helpers on preparation work and maintain a clean and organized FRP and paint area.
• Control material usage and reduce waste.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in FRP repair and marine painting.
