About the Role
Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector Piping Project to join their team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, field-based role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of piping fabrication and installation activities with established standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
- Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
- Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
- Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
- Verify the calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
- Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
- Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes, specifically ASME *
- Support the preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.
Performance Evaluation
Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, including:
- Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
- Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
- First-time weld and inspection acceptance rate.
- Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
- Quality of inspection documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant QC Inspector role, specifically with piping projects.
- Demonstrated ability to perform inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities.
- Familiarity with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards such as ASME *
Work Environment
This is a field-based position that requires daily presence on active piping work fronts. The role involves exposure to typical site and construction conditions. Candidates should be prepared for potential shift work or extended hours to cover critical inspection hold points.
