Job Description

About the Role

Dar Al Riyadh Consultants is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Al Jubail. This full-time role involves comprehensive quantity surveying services for large-scale projects, requiring extensive experience in both pre- and post-construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare various Quantity Surveying documents, including budgetary estimates from sketch drawings, Bills of Quantities for all disciplines, and cost estimates.
  • Liaise with Project Directors, attend tender procedures, and prepare Tender Reports.
  • Prepare contract awards, check contract documents, and make recommendations on contractor’s valuations.
  • Provide assistance to Project Managers on contractual issues.
  • Evaluate variations and handle contractual correspondences.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide clients with cost projections as required.
  • Prepare evaluations and cost projections for assignments to meet requirements of works in progress.
  • Liaise with contractors to advise on contract requirements.
  • Inspect sites for collation of information for monthly statements, including recommendations on interim payments, contractor claims, anticipated claims, and assessment of work costs and expected final costs.
  • Prepare variation orders through site visits to record information on claims and variations.
  • Perform cost analysis and draw up reports on changes to works and contractor’s claims.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing and approving contractor’s final accounts.
  • Finalize the Final Account of projects.
  • Assist in any contract administration duties related to Quantity Surveying.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Possess a Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of working experience in pre- and post-construction quantity surveying services.
  • At least 5 years of this experience must be in KSA.
  • Membership with RICS is preferred.
  • Very good knowledge and experience in FIDIC and other applicable forms of contracts.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale projects such as commercial and residential complexes, roads, highways and infrastructure, airports, hospitals, sports clubs and stadiums, housing projects, towers/high-rise buildings, and industrial buildings.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, requiring a professional who can manage complex projects and collaborate effectively within a consulting environment.
