About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. (ABICON) is seeking a Lead Planner to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time role is central to managing project schedules, ensuring accurate progress measurement, and effectively communicating schedule-related risks to project management. The Lead Planner will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and scheduling of ABICON's scope of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the baseline and progressive project schedule using Primavera P6 for ABICON's scope.
  • Supervise Planners and integrate discipline-level schedules into a master project schedule.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules based on site input and productivity data.
  • Conduct schedule variance and critical path analysis, identifying and highlighting potential delays and risks.
  • Prepare progress curves (S-curves), histograms, and comprehensive progress reports for management and clients.
  • Coordinate with construction, procurement, and engineering teams regarding schedule interfaces.
  • Support the development of what-if scenarios and recovery schedules.
  • Ensure consistent application of the progress measurement methodology across all disciplines.
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules for site execution.
  • Coordinate schedule-related information for change orders and claims.
  • Present schedule status during progress meetings.
  • Maintain thorough schedule documentation and historical records for lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling on EPC or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership within a planning/scheduling context.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential.

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a project-focused environment, collaborating with various departments to ensure project timelines are met and risks are managed effectively.
