About Applus+

Applus+ is seeking a QC Coating Inspector to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience, with salary details not disclosed.

Role Summary

The QC Coating Inspector is responsible for ensuring that surface preparation and coating application activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. This role primarily focuses on projects within the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and pipeline sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect surface preparation activities, including blasting and cleaning processes.
  • Verify environmental conditions before the application of coatings.
  • Monitor coating application processes to ensure adherence to approved procedures.
  • Conduct various tests such as Dry Film Thickness (DFT), holiday testing, adhesion testing, and visual inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with SAEP-316 and specific project requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain all necessary QA/QC documentation.
  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, internal QA/QC teams, and client inspectors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A * Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant inspection experience, OR an Industrial/Technical Diploma with a minimum of 8–10 years of relevant inspection experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or pipeline projects.
  • Valid certification: CSWIP-BGAS Level 2, NACE Level 2, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified as per SAEP-316 requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience across all phases of critical coating applications.
  • A valid driving license is mandatory for this role.
