The Role of Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

Penspen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join its engineering team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This full-time position is for a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project and requires extensive experience in both offshore and onshore environments. The salary for this role is negotiable, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities across FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases for oil & gas projects.
• Develop data sheets, specifications, and requisitions for various rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, and packaged systems.
• Review vendor offers, conduct technical bid evaluations, and participate in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure all work complies with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines to ensure seamless equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents such as GA drawings, datasheets, and performance curves, ensuring timely approval.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits, ensuring adherence to project quality and safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically with rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Packages, with strong Excel skills.
• Experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards is an advantage.

Work Environment

This role is based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region, and is a full-time position within Penspen's engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project.
