About the Role

KUWAIT STEEL is seeking an experienced Electrical Planner - Maintenance to join their team in Al Qatif. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of electrical and electronic systems within the company's industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan preventive, predictive, breakdown, condition-based, shutdown, and corrective maintenance schedules for electrical and electronic systems.
  • Prepare work orders, spare parts requests, and electrical documentation in coordination with operations and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and safety departments to align electrical maintenance plans with operational requirements and minimize downtime.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and resource coordination of equipment improvement, modification, and redesign activities, including minor projects and reliability initiatives.
  • Support maintenance activities across different plants or areas, including planning, coordination, and scheduling of centralized or shared-service initiatives for standardized electrical equipment.
  • Authorize routine maintenance activities and control shift-level documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Guide technicians in proper documentation, SAP entry, reporting, and safe use of electrical systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance planning data in SAP, including work orders, task lists, materials, and maintenance plans.
  • Track electrical maintenance records, test reports, and completed work orders to verify compliance with standards and maintenance KPIs.
  • Review material requests, consumption, and feedback reports to ensure effective maintenance planning.
  • Prepare and update master data for all electrical equipment through SAP, ensuring data integrity and standardization.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual electrical maintenance performance reports.
  • Report backlog status, planning performance, and highlight opportunities for process and cost improvement.
  • Provide planning-based input to support maintenance cost analysis, resource allocation decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize maintenance resource utilization and cost efficiency through effective planning, balancing internal labor, contractors, materials, and equipment availability.
  • Prepare, release, and monitor purchase requisitions, service requests, job orders, and material entries through SAP (Materials Management module).
  • Prepare technical evaluations for the purchase of materials, spares, and electrical consumables.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess practical exposure to weekly down-day planning, annual shutdown preparation, and coordination of spares, contractors, and services for electrical and automation maintenance. Prior hands-on use of SAP or CMMS is considered an advantage. Exposure to KPI tracking, energy monitoring, testing instruments, and automation systems is also beneficial.

  • For Diploma Holders: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in rolling mills or heavy industry operations, with at least 4 years in electrical/electronic maintenance planning in rolling mills or similar, and a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • For Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Minimum 5 years of experience in the steel industry or heavy industry operations, with at least 2 years in electrical/electronic maintenance planning in rolling mills or similar, and a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, motors, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to schedule and track preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Competence in work order systems, spare parts planning, and technical reporting.
  • Familiarity with plant electrical safety standards, safety requirements, and work permit systems.
  • Ability to review and optimize schedules and resource utilization.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP PM and MM Modules.
  • Strong adherence to Quality (IMS/ISO) & Plant Safety Standards, SOPs, risk prevention measures, and emergency procedures.
  • Effective communication, coordination, basic problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Qatif. The role involves working within KUWAIT STEEL's industrial operations, requiring close collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless maintenance planning and execution.
