The company is committed to developing flow control solutions that contribute to a better world. Flowserve is seeking a Field Service Technician level 2 to join its team in Al Qatif. This full-time position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on the installation, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of Flowserve’s equipment.

Role Overview

The Field Service Technician (FST) serves as a direct representative of Flowserve, providing essential technical support and service to customers. This role involves working onsite at customer facilities across various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater. The FST delivers real-time technical assistance, offers recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment, and actively engages in problem diagnosis and solution implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests.
  • Assess mechanical problems and implement prompt resolutions.
  • Collaborate with customer personnel and lead work crews as required.
  • Oversee the complete repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of equipment.
  • Ensure successful and timely installation of equipment.
  • Perform pre-startup checks and evaluate startup performance.
  • Monitor the maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.
  • Train customers on proper operating and maintenance procedures for Flowserve products.
  • Collaborate effectively with supporting Flowserve organizations, including repair centers, customer service, and sales engineering.
  • Maintain and submit organized, accurate records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and time and materials charged.
  • Install mechanical equipment.
  • Repair pump equipment, install mechanical seals, and change seal faces, gaskets, or O-rings.
  • Communicate and uphold Flowserve’s values for ethics, safety, and quality.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Professional certifications in this field.
  • Experience with installing mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with repairing pump equipment and installing mechanical seals.
  • Proven ability to correctly read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of industrial applications and operations of pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and mechanical equipment.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with unfamiliar teams.
  • Must be a self-starter with good follow-through, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires an active driver’s license with a good driving record. The Field Service Technician must be able to travel, including globally, for extended periods and work overtime as required to minimize customer impact. Physical activity is a regular requirement, involving frequent lifting up to 50 pounds (25kg), ascending and descending ladders and staircases, and climbing and reaching in, under, and around large equipment, often outdoors year-round.
