About the Role
Airbus ** is seeking an STC Electrical Systems Engineer III to join their team in Al Qatif. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in electrical systems engineering within the aviation industry, focusing on Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) cabin upgrade projects.
Role Overview
As the technical lead for electrical systems architecture and integration on STC cabin upgrade projects, you will be responsible for the entire electrical package. This involves translating customer requirements into certified, installable wiring and system configurations, adhering to JAR25, CS25, and FAR25 airworthiness regulations. You will contribute to the design, creation, and testing of Airbus products throughout their lifecycle, from development to manufacturing and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical anchor for the electrical systems team, ensuring timely and quality delivery of engineering packages.
- Define complex cabin electrical system architectures, specify equipment, and validate wiring diagrams.
- Author and approve technical notes, installation instructions, and Service Bulletins (SBs).
- Represent the electrical discipline in multi-functional team meetings and report status to the Project Manager.
- Provide engineering support to technicians during aircraft modification phases.
- Ensure all cabin electrical designs comply with aviation regulations and Airbus engineering standards.
- Execute technical tasks using approved company processes, tools, and ethical standards.
- Manage tasks to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining engineering procedures and workflows.
- Promote lean working methods and drive constructive changes within the engineering team.
- Capture and share lessons learned from retrofit projects to enhance global execution.
- Partner with the Program team to provide technical estimations and quotations during the initial offer phase.
- Support the Program team by occasionally assisting with mechanical design tasks, configuration management, or technical publication updates.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aeronautical, or Civil).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the aviation industry, specifically in aircraft cabin electrical systems design, development, and certification.
- Authorized to Work in the US.
- Strong engineering experience with embedded aircraft electrical systems across ATA chapters 23 (Communications), 24 (Electrical Power), 25 (Cabin Equipment/Galley/IFE), 26 (Fire Protection), 33 (Lights), and 44 (Cabin Systems).
- Proven experience developing Safety Analyses, Electrical Load Analyses (ELA), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigations, and Ground Test Instructions.
- Working knowledge of equipment qualification standards DO-160 and DO-178. Familiarity with standard Aircraft Publications (AMMs, AWMs, IPCs).
- General technical knowledge of Airbus aircraft systems and architectures.
- Familiarity with EASA Part 21 (DOA / POA) and Part 145 regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience managing technical projects or complex aircraft configuration management.
- Proficiency with Google Suites.
- In-depth understanding of the cabin/cabin systems retrofit process.
- Ability to support projects from technical proposal to after return into service.

- High motivation and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced retrofit environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role is primarily onsite, with approximately 90% of work performed at the Al Qatif location and 10% remote. Daily tasks include computer use, participation in conversations and meetings, operating office equipment, carrying and lifting items up to 30lbs/14kgs, pushing/pulling small furniture and equipment, sitting for extended periods, squatting/kneeling for access, and standing for discussions. Occasional travel may be required. Routine walking through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces, is expected.
