About the Role
HUDSON is seeking a Welding Engineer/Inspector to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading and supervising welding operations within a workshop setting, focusing on critical equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in welding engineering and inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise welding operations for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and related equipment.
- Manage various welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GTAW (TIG), and Orbital welding for Carbon Steel (CS), Stainless Steel (SS), and Alloy Steel materials.
- Allocate welders and resources effectively based on Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and material requirements.
- Monitor critical welding parameters such as fit-up, preheat, interpass temperature, Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), and consumable usage.
- Maintain comprehensive weld traceability records, logbooks, and repair documentation.
- Coordinate closely with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) teams for inspections and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Ensure all welding activities strictly comply with ASME, API, and AWS standards, as well as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in welding engineering and inspection.
- Demonstrated expertise in supervising welding operations for pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers.
- Proficiency in SMAW, FCAW, GTAW (TIG), and Orbital welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of welding for Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Alloy Steel.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards including ASME, API, and AWS.
- Familiarity with HSE safety protocols related to welding activities.
Work Environment
This role is based in a workshop environment within Saudi Arabia, with potential work locations across cities such as Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Al Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Al Qatif, Ras Tannurah, Buqayq, Al Khafji, Al Hafuf, Al Mubarraz, Al Umran, Al Jafr, Safwa, Tarut, Sayhat, Inak, Darin, Al Jish, Umm Al Hamam, Jawatha, and Al Ardhiyah Al Shimaliyah. It is a full-time position requiring dedicated presence in the workshop to oversee operations.
