About the Role

ENGIE Solutions Middle East is seeking a Senior Landscape Engineer to join our team in Al Ula, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading all landscape facilities management activities, ensuring outdoor spaces and green infrastructure are maintained to high standards of aesthetics, functionality, safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual Landscape Maintenance Business Plan, including budgets, KPIs, resource allocation, and capital improvement priorities.
  • Establish team objectives aligned with organizational goals and sustainability commitments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary landscape management team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the FMA Landscape Team and senior management, tenants, clients, consultants, and government authorities.
  • Champion the adoption of technology such as smart irrigation, drone surveys, and GIS mapping for landscape management.
  • Ensure all landscape areas, including softscape, hardscape, water features, external lighting, irrigation, boundary treatments, outdoor furniture, parking areas, and recreational amenities, are maintained in optimal condition.
  • Review and approve the Preventive Maintenance Programme (PMP) and ensure its effective implementation.
  • Monitor real-time operations and respond to emergencies, such as storm damage, irrigation failures, tree falls, and flooding, with decisive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, environmental laws, health and safety standards, and green building certification requirements.
  • Oversee the Performance Review Framework for all in-house staff and external service providers, conducting quarterly and annual performance reviews and preparing balanced scorecards.
  • Facilitate structured feedback sessions with clients, tenants, and stakeholders to capture satisfaction data and initiate corrective action plans when performance benchmarks are not met.
  • Approve the procurement strategy for all landscape-related services, materials, and capital works, overseeing the RFP lifecycle from initiation through evaluation, award, and contract administration.
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve best value while maintaining quality and sustainability standards.
  • Lead the annual Landscape Condition Assessment and Gap Analysis.
  • Develop and implement the Landscape Improvement & Enhancement Master Plan.
  • Benchmark performance against industry best practices and comparable properties.
  • Drive innovation in sustainable landscape practices, including xeriscaping, native planting, biodiversity corridors, and permeable paving.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CLP (Certified Landscape Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or equivalent.

Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess 10–15+ years of progressive experience in landscape management. Experience within large-scale commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments is preferred. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, operational management, and stakeholder communication skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Ula, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, focusing on the comprehensive management and enhancement of diverse landscape facilities.
