We are seeking a full-time HVAC Technician to join our team in An Nu'ayriyah, contributing to the excellence in guest care and comfort that defines our brand.

Role Summary

The HVAC Technician is responsible for responding to and resolving guest repair requests, ensuring the seamless operation of hotel facilities. This role involves performing preventive maintenance on various equipment, maintaining inventory, and communicating daily activities to ensure continuity across shifts. The technician will uphold The Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards by delivering gracious and thoughtful service every day, contributing to the brand's reputation as a leader in luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating effectively to address maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
  • Carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios to job sites.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs and standards.
  • Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on plumbing (*, plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), and other guestroom items.
  • Program TVs and execute general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
  • Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including external landscaping sprinklers.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or ** equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of experience in general maintenance, including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is preferred.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.

Work Environment and Professional Conduct

The role requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing safety training. Candidates must ensure their uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance (heavier tasks with assistance), moving up and down stairs, service ramps, and ladders, and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers is also essential. The HVAC Technician is expected to develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and communicate professionally, while welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards and anticipating service needs.
