About the Role
We are seeking to hire a competent Purchasing Manager to handle our client's procurement activities across multiple categories of spend. You will search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Our client is a leading Mining group based in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks while maintaining the supplier database.
  • Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure performance is aligned with established specifications.
  • Administer bidding processes and contracts, including preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and managing budgets.
  • Research and evaluate vendors/contracts to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Review and maintain good records of purchasing files and records to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Continually improve purchasing methods/processes and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external sources.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.

Qualifications
  • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent, or in a similar position.
  • Deep knowledge of inventory, supervisory and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Experience working on ERP systems.
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for negotiation and networking.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership ability with a proven aptitude for training others.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
  • Thorough understanding of business management principles, materials, and supplies used in the company.
