The Head Nurse Role

Semmelweis University is seeking a dedicated Head Nurse to join the Institute of Pancreatic Diseases. This is a full-time position based at the workplace located at 1083 Budapest, Tömő street 25-29, Hungary. The Head Nurse is responsible for the professional nursing operations of a 30-bed inpatient ward, ensuring high standards of patient care and staff support.

Responsibilities

• Manage, organize, and continuously develop the nursing professional work within the 30-bed inpatient ward.
• Coordinate and supervise nursing activities, providing professional support and motivation to colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with all nursing, hygiene, and patient safety regulations.
• Oversee the proper maintenance of nursing and patient documentation, performing related administrative tasks.
• Assist in the procurement, ordering, and inventory management of equipment, materials, and medicines necessary for the ward's operation.
• Participate in tasks related to the ward's financial management and the reception of incoming equipment and materials.
• Actively participate in professional meetings and rounds, including substituting for the institutional head nurse when required.
• Maintain contact with external partners and sister organizations, and perform other managerial duties associated with the ward manager's role.
