Inspector Scrap

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Scrap Inspector to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the quality and proper handling of incoming scrap materials and maintaining yard standards. The role requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure the bulk density of incoming scrap supplies before truck unloading.
• Unload scrap and DRI according to grade at designated locations.
• Segregate unwanted material and unprepared scrap by spreading offloaded scrap on the floor.
• Classify scrap quality and category based on approved Internal Scrap Standards.
• Visually estimate scrap quantity and grade for unloaded scrap composed of different categories.
• Load back unacceptable or inferior quality scrap into the same truck, in consultation with the Foreman or Supervisor.
• Report abnormalities, deductions, and rejections of loaded-back scrap with relevant pictures or evidence.
• Identify and segregate closed containers, hydraulic jacks, and non-metallic/unwanted material.
• Inspect suspected bundle or jumbled scrap after breaking it open before acceptance.
• Record inspection remarks on both the Scrap Inspection report and Inspection Sheet.
• Coordinate with the Scrap Yard Foreman and Scrap Controller for gantry crane or other operational requirements.
• Shift segregated oversize material and unwanted material to the designated area at the end of each shift.

Safety and Environmental Duties

• Adhere to organizational HS&E policies and job-specific safety instructions.
• Report damaged PPE, unsafe machines, or equipment to the concerned staff.
• Maintain provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
• Avoid horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Attend planned safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse unsafe work.
• Ensure the safety of coworkers and machinery/scrap handling equipment.
• Maintain yard housekeeping and an environmentally friendly surrounding.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to perform physical measurements and visual estimations accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for material segregation and classification.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols in an industrial environment.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, requiring on-site presence in the scrap yard. The role involves coordination with various team members and adherence to strict safety guidelines.
