About the Internship

Scenariohat Films is seeking a Personal Assistant to Directors for an internship opportunity. This role is designed for an early-career filmmaker to join the crew of a significant Saudi cinematic drama series (Premium Drama). The position is based in Dammam and Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, and requires 0-1 years of experience. Please note, this is not an Assistant Director position.

Role Purpose

The Personal Assistant to Directors will act as a crucial link between the director and the Italian cinematography and gaffer team. The primary purpose of this role is to serve as a "shadow" for the director, understanding cinematic language, and professionally conveying the director's vision and visual sense to the Italian crew. This position also involves providing support for creative and preparatory tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a creative and linguistic link between the director and the Italian camera team on set.
• Assist the director with general preparations and in building the Director's Treatment.
• Organize the director's daily tasks and manage their schedule to alleviate administrative burden.
• Coordinate creative meetings and relay notes between the director and other production departments.

Required Qualifications

• Language: Fluent in both Italian and Arabic.
• Background: An early-career director or a cinema graduate with a basic understanding of cinematic terms, including lenses, lighting, and camera movement.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in using basic presentation software such as Google Slides for preparing files.
• Travel: Ability and ease of movement and presence at filming locations outside the Kingdom, specifically Bahrain.

Work Environment and Location

This internship is based in Dammam and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and involves working on the set of a large-scale cinematic drama series. The role requires flexibility for travel and presence at filming locations, including international travel to Bahrain as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with the director and an international crew.
