About the Role
HUDSON is seeking a QA Engineer for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading QA/QC inspections for pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers within Oil & Gas or petrochemical projects, ensuring strict compliance with industry standards.
Role Overview
The QA Engineer will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities in a workshop setting. This includes ensuring that all fabrication and inspection processes adhere to specified codes and client requirements, particularly ASME, API, and Aramco standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA/QC inspections for pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers in Oil & Gas or petrochemical projects.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, and Aramco standards throughout all inspection processes.
- Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and welder qualifications.
- Monitor Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and personnel.
- Manage outsourced fabrication and inspection activities, coordinating with vendors and third-party inspectors.
- Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), comprehensive inspection reports, and final quality dossiers.
- Interface with clients regarding hold/witness points, Data Collection Log (DCL) submissions, and testing procedures.
- Handle Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), implement corrective actions, provide technical clarifications, and drive continuous quality improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10+ years of industrial experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in QA/QC roles.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Inspector Professional (CSWIP).
- ASNT Level II certification in NDT methods (UT, PT, MT, RT, VT).
- Proficiency in ASME, API, AWS, and other relevant fabrication and inspection codes.
Work Environment
This full-time position is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, within a workshop environment. The role requires active involvement in project sites and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards.
