Role Overview

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Safety Officer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience. The Safety Officer will be an individual contributor, potentially managing two or fewer employees, and may direct the work of lower-level professionals or manage specific processes and programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute customer operations plans and processes to ensure efficient logistics.
• Manage and update orders received via the system, including special and non-assigned orders.
• Ensure the flow of goods and information across customer supply chains and resolve order/delivery issues.
• Support the sales team by responding to operations-related requests such as quotations, exception deal management, historical account overviews, and billing corrections.
• Undertake delivery of cartage tours, monitoring and achieving tour profitability, service quality, and timelines.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, including conducting customer visits to understand requirements.
• Track available capacities and ensure optimum utilization according to set objectives.
• Resolve issues in operational activities and report events and exceptions to management as necessary.
• Ensure systems are updated with current information on product shortages, expected delivery dates, and price changes.
• Draft reports related to customer inquiries, sales trends, complaints, delivery/service problems, and reasons for product returns, evaluating operational performance and delivery efficiency.
• Interact with other logistics operations departments, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Comply with operating standards and procedures to provide cost-effective, superior, and efficient customer service.
• Study and resolve day-to-day customer operations issues and implement practices focused on increasing effectiveness and efficiency.
• Connect with and influence specialist departments and third-party service providers.
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
• Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
• Ability to build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with managers.
• Understanding of customer and key stakeholder interests and concerns, with the ability to advise direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.
• Capability to convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
