Role Summary

Hill International (KSA) is seeking a Senior Special Airport System Engineer for a full-time position in Dammam. This role involves leading the engineering and design review of specialized airport systems under the Project Management Consultant (PMC). The primary objective is to ensure that all airport systems are designed, integrated, and delivered in adherence to international standards, operational requirements, and stakeholder expectations, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and future scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design review and coordination for various Special Airport Systems.
• Review and approve design submissions, shop drawings, technical specifications, and interface documents.
• Provide technical expertise in system architecture, integration, and interface management across multiple airport systems.
• Identify design risks, system conflicts, and operational challenges, proposing effective mitigation solutions.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Prepare and review technical reports and design documentation, ensuring timely approvals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director or line manager.

Special Airport Systems Expertise

The role requires specialized knowledge and experience with a range of airport systems. This includes Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Public Address (PA) systems, CCTV, Access Control, and Airport Operational Database (AODB).

Compliance and Integration Oversight

• Ensure all system designs comply with project specifications, aviation authority regulations, and international standards.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of airport systems.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, including coordination with airport operators, airlines, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure designs meet operational efficiency, passenger experience, and safety requirements.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position must possess over 15 years of experience in engineering and design review of specialized airport systems, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the field.
