About the Role
Ram Arbia For General Contracting, located in Dammam, is seeking a Technical Office Engineer to join its project team. This full-time position is integral to the execution of a major hospital construction project in Riyadh. The role focuses on transforming design documents into coordinated construction drawings, ensuring constructability, technical accuracy, and full compliance with project requirements.
Role Summary
The Technical Office Engineer will be responsible for the preparation, coordination, review, and continuous updating of shop drawings throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires close coordination with the Design Team, Technical Office, Site Engineers, BIM Team, Consultants, and Clients to ensure all construction drawings are fully coordinated, technically accurate, and approved prior to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop, and review Shop Drawings in accordance with project requirements and approved design documents.
- Review IFC drawings, contract documents, technical specifications, and project requirements before preparing shop drawings.
- Develop multidisciplinary Coordination Drawings to ensure seamless integration between all engineering disciplines.
- Identify design conflicts and coordinate technical solutions with the Design Team, Technical Office, and Site Engineers.
- Prepare Builder's Work Drawings and Opening Drawings as required.
- Prepare, update, and maintain As-Built Drawings throughout the construction phase until final project handover.
- Coordinate with Construction Teams to ensure shop drawings accurately reflect site conditions.
- Support Consultant and Client approval processes and promptly address review comments.
- Coordinate closely with the BIM Team to ensure consistency between BIM models and construction drawings.
- Review Material Submittals for compatibility with approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and engineering solutions to construction teams.
- Maintain proper document control procedures, revision management, and drawing distribution.
- Prepare periodic reports on drawing status, approvals, and technical coordination progress.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of: Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Ministry of Health requirements for healthcare facilities, Shop Drawings preparation and coordination, Coordination Drawings, Builder's Work Drawings, Opening Drawings, As-Built Drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, Requests for Information (RFIs), interpretation of design drawings and technical specifications, Document Control procedures and revision management, and BIM workflows and ISO 19650 standards.
- Advanced experience working on BIM-enabled construction projects, including the ability to coordinate Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Medical Systems models.
- Strong understanding of Clash Detection processes and experience working within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Ability to manage digital engineering models and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in software including: AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure & MEP), Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Civil 3D (where applicable), Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM Collaborate Pro, Autodesk Docs, BIM 360, Oracle Aconex, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp Pro (for Architectural disciplines), Enscape or Lumion (preferred for presentation and visualization), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Core Competencies: Excellent technical detailing and drawing preparation skills, strong multidisciplinary coordination capabilities, advanced analytical and engineering problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, effective time management and ability to meet drawing submission deadlines, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and professional technical reporting and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on Ministry of Health or Healthcare Cluster projects.
- Experience delivering specialized or tertiary healthcare facilities.
- Experience on Design & Build projects.
- Autodesk Professional Certifications or BIM-related professional certifications.
- Experience implementing digital engineering workflows and document management systems.
