About the Item Controller Role
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Item Controller to join its Air Engineering team. This full-time position is based in Dhahran and requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Core Responsibilities
The Item Controller will be responsible for planning and determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs. This includes preparing recommendations for material procurement, specifying item types, quantities, and sources. The role involves monitoring the status and effectiveness of material support, identifying, analyzing, and resolving associated problems. Planning and scheduling of supply management activities are key, alongside developing and establishing work and performance standards.
Team Leadership and Training
This position requires supervising Supply Management Personnel, prioritizing workload, and ensuring the efficient operation of the functional area. The Item Controller will also conduct personnel training in both individual and group settings. Additionally, the role involves inspecting and evaluating supply management activities through manual and automated systems, developing training aids, and analyzing reports and surveys to make recommendations.
Supply Chain and Logistics Management
Developing methods and improving procedures for storage is a critical aspect of this role. The Item Controller will maintain updated status of Spares Procurements and track repairs within the Supply Chain as required. This involves a deep understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 15 years of practical and progressive experience in Supply Training & Logistics Procedures.
- Extensive practical supply experience with proven track record.
- Extensive experience in Stock Control/Item Management.
- Attendance at an Item Management Operator Course.
- Knowledge of organizational supply policies and procedures, stock control, accountability, and record-keeping methods (manual or mechanized).
- Understanding of property accountability, methods of storing, receiving, issuing, and disposing of property, and material handling techniques.
- Demonstrated supply chain management experience.

This is a full-time position located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
