About the Role

Duruper is seeking a qualified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to join their team in Dhahran, Eastern Region. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience in radiation safety, health physics, or industrial radiography.

Role Overview

The Radiation Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive radiation safety and protection programs. This role ensures compliance with national and international standards, including those set by the NRRC, IAEA, and Saudi Aramco (SAES). The position involves hands-on experience with industrial radiography operations and requires a strong understanding of radiation protection principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage radiation safety and protection programs.
  • Ensure compliance with NRRC, IAEA, and Saudi Aramco (SAES) standards.
  • Conduct radiation safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor radiation exposure levels and enforce safe working practices.
  • Safely handle, store, and transport radiation sources (gamma & X-ray).
  • Operate and maintain radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
  • Train and supervise radiation workers on safety protocols.
  • Maintain regulatory licenses, permits, and documentation.
  • Support and execute radiation safety requirements for Aramco projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Aramco safety systems and contractor procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in radiation safety or industrial radiography.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or a related field.
  • Certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
  • Valid NRRC (Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission) license.
  • Valid QSA Global retrieval & maintenance certification.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial radiography (gamma & X-ray sources).
  • Experience with radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of NRRC regulations, IAEA standards, and SAES guidelines.
  • Experience in radiation source handling, audits, and compliance.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, Eastern Region. Preference will be given to candidates with prior Saudi Aramco project exposure.
