
Speech Therapist
Job Description
Job Purpose:
Evaluating and diagnosing speech, language, and communication disorders.
Developing and implementing effective individualized treatment plans.
Developing verbal and non-verbal communication skills in beneficiaries.
Monitoring case progress, documenting it, and modifying plans as needed.
Adhering to professional standards and information confidentiality.
Tasks and Responsibilities: Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Understanding the child's medical, psychological, and linguistic history and monitoring any developments.
Scheduling and conducting assessment and training sessions on Rehaddox (placement test – initial assessment – second assessment – third assessment - transferees).
Extracting reports from the system (weekly monitoring – monthly reports – individual plans).
Adhering to (scheduling two sessions per week and setting 6 training goals based on the child's weekly schedule).
Committing to compensating the child in case of the specialist's absence and intensifying sessions when necessary.
Understanding exceptional situations that prevent the completion of a training session and acting appropriately in each situation.
Contributing to the child's development by reviewing necessary reports.
Following educational methods for reinforcement and behavior modification, and using training tools to practice the goal in multiple ways and performances.
Analyzing the child's progress or the inappropriateness of the plan and discussing it with the clinical services supervisor.
Considering psychological or behavioral disorders that appear during training sessions and attempting to calm the child through various methods.
Understanding disorders or problems that may arise from abruptly stopping medication, changing the type of medication, or its dosage, and discussing the situation with the supervisor.
Considering cases that can be grouped into a single session, taking into account the compatibility of skills and abilities, and not conducting group sessions except after agreement with the supervisor.
Discussing difficult cases with other specialists to find proposed solutions to help resolve encountered problems.
Receiving and maintaining equipment and tools.
Inventorying the clinic's needs for materials and tools and reporting to the supervisor.
Recording observations for parents and responding to their inquiries politely and professionally in the follow-up notebook – and recording training goals and difficulties during the session.
Reviewing reports generated by the system (mid-term – final).
Ensuring the completion of children's files, execution of all sessions, closing them in the system, and scheduling new sessions for the next day.
Turning off lights and air conditioning, tidying the clinic, and returning tools to their proper places.
Monitoring the commitment of the special education specialist to the role of speech and language therapy within the classroom.
Following up on the case with the psychologist and reviewing the behavior modification plan to implement it during training sessions.
Sharing all inquiries about the system with the supervisor and applying correct procedures after consulting the supervisor.
Participating in activating events and international days related to speech and language therapy.
Regular meetings with specialists and the technical director to follow up on children's progress and challenges.
Developing performance by attending workshops and scientific courses.
Contributing to the development of programs and the system by discussing observations promptly with the department supervisor.
Competencies and Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor of Applied Medical Sciences.
Bachelor of Special Education.
70 hours of speech therapy.
Personal Skills:
Ability to manage teams and provide effective guidance.
Problem-solving and quick decision-making skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle field challenges.
Work Experience:
Preference given to those with field experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using computers, Microsoft Office programs, and technical applications.
Communication Skills:
Excellent leadership, guidance, and effective communication skills.
