About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking an Area Manager for Amazon Now in Jeddah. This full-time role is part of a newly formed organization focused on designing and launching new business models across AMET. The Area Manager will lead last-mile operations for Amazon Now (15-minute grocery delivery) and will be responsible for overseeing the Operations organization across multiple sites/dark stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation, test new ideas, and ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
  • Focus on six key operational areas: Safety, People, Quality, Customer Experience/Speed, Productivity, Costs, and Environment.
  • Support project execution across various organizational functions.
  • Resolve issues during discussions between different functions and hold teams accountable for deliverables.
  • Partner with RoW countries to implement and share best practices.
  • Maintain Health and Safety standards within the remit area and promote a safety culture on-site.
  • Provide operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and supporting development.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Conduct strategic planning for three, six, and twelve months, with an emphasis on peak-season planning.
  • Prepare and articulate leadership updates, Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Establish objectives and metrics for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and customer experience.
  • Provide teams with necessary tools, driving productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions.
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
  • Analyze and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent quality and productivity across all shifts.
  • Lead and support a team, manage administrative tasks, and foster a strong team culture.
  • Analyze performance and suggest process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service.
  • Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Capable of pushing and pulling wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, and data links.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable leading a large, complex last-mile network with a hands-on approach. The role requires an understanding of last-mile technology, strong project management skills, and effective internal/external stakeholder management. The ability to interface and drive initiatives with various functional teams at all organizational levels is essential.
