About the Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Cook / Commis to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position is open to Saudi nationals only and requires 0-1 year of experience. The role involves preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring a high level of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food items.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items as required.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the work station efficiently.
• Serve food in proper portions onto appropriate receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.

Workplace Conduct and Safety

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Communicate with colleagues using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
