General Superintendent

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a General Superintendent to lead and supervise Electrical and Instrumentation superintendents and/or craft professionals on the Ar Rjum Project. This full-time role involves directing craft activities, coordinating subcontract work, and ensuring compliance with project standards. The position is based in Saudi Arabia, with operations in Riyadh, Taif, and Jeddah.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh, and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh. It features three open-pit mining operations, associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This infrastructure includes water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise discipline and lead superintendents with over 100 craft professionals.
• Proactively engage in team development through CPM, competency development/assessment, and feedback.
• Supervise and direct craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and other assigned personnel.
• Determine workforce requirements and prepare reports and forecasts, including construction progress summaries, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditure forecasts.
• Monitor tool and equipment usage on site and prepare Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables to ensure craft productivity.
• Ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance comply with specifications.
• Implement corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
• Monitor work activities and ensure the quality of work performed.
• Collaborate with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proven ability to lead a team and supervise craft professionals.
• Demonstrated understanding of project policies, procedures, and job site work rules.
• Experience in ensuring work is performed within specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position on a greenfield gold project. The role requires active supervision and coordination of construction activities in a dynamic project setting.
