GRAPHIC DESIGNER

About the Role

Arabian Ceramics (سيراميك العربية) is seeking a Graphic Designer to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves planning, designing, and furnishing interior environments for various settings, including exhibitions, showrooms, dealer shops, and customer residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The Graphic Designer will also be responsible for originating and developing design ideas for ceramic and porcelain products.

Key Responsibilities

• Confer with management to determine scheme preferences, purpose, function of interior environments, budget, types of ceramics, and panels to be installed.
• Integrate findings with interior design knowledge to formulate practical, aesthetic, and purpose-driven ceramic environmental plans.
• Advise management on interior design factors such as space planning, layout, utilization of furnishings and equipment, and color schemes.
• Render design ideas through paste-ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimate material requirements and costs, and present designs for approval.
• Select or design and purchase furnishings, artworks, and accessories.
• Subcontract fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, and furniture.
• Read publications, attend showings, and consult with engineers, marketing, production, and sales representatives to establish design concepts.
• Evaluate design ideas based on appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials, engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, and market characteristics.
• Present design works to the design committee and discuss necessary modifications.
• Coordinate the preparation of working drawings from sketches and design specifications.
• Integrate findings, concepts, and sketches for custom application design ideas.
• Confer with administrative, curatorial, and exhibit staff to determine theme, content, purpose, and location of exhibits.
• Consider budget, promotion, and time limitations, and plan production schedules for exhibit component fabrication and installation.
• Prepare preliminary drawings of proposed exhibits, including detailed construction, layout, special effect diagrams, and material specifications.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in graphic design or interior design, with a focus on environmental and product design. A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in planning, designing, and furnishing interior spaces, as well as product design, is essential.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in design software and rendering tools.
• Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and color theory.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed drawings and illustrations.
• Knowledge of materials, production methods, and cost estimation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to advise management and collaborate with various teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
