About the Marketing Director Role

Mindfield Resources is seeking a Marketing Director for a privately owned Saudi consumer technology business. This full-time position, based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, involves establishing the marketing function from the ground up. The company operates an established national distribution platform, retail and e-commerce operations, and manages a growing portfolio of owned brands alongside leading international device brands.

Strategic Focus and Impact

Reporting to senior commercial leadership, the Marketing Director will be responsible for defining how the business understands consumers, selects categories, develops products, and builds brands. This role is centered on strengthening principal brand performance and creating a repeatable engine for owned-brand growth. It requires connecting every marketing decision to revenue, margin, market share, and brand value, collaborating across sales, distribution, retail, e-commerce, finance, procurement, external manufacturers, and agency partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the marketing organization, capability, processes, agency model, and performance measures from the ground up.
• Define consumer, category, and portfolio strategy across principal and owned brands.
• Identify market gaps and translate them into commercially viable product and brand opportunities.
• Lead product development with external manufacturers from concept and specification through launch.
• Shape pricing, assortment, positioning, packaging, and go-to-market decisions.
• Build consumer demand across distribution, retail, e-commerce, and key-account channels.
• Create stronger use of consumer and customer data for commercial decision-making.
• Manage marketing investment with clear accountability for return, revenue, and profitability.
• Develop a capable team and influence senior stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, family-owned environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• A strong foundation in brand and category marketing within a recognized blue-chip consumer business.
• Subsequent experience in a regional, local, or owner-led company where a brand was personally built or materially transformed.
• Clear evidence of owning the complete journey from consumer insight through product, pricing, launch, distribution, and scale.
• Meaningful P&L, revenue, gross-margin, or category-commercial accountability.
• Experience working across distribution, wholesale, retail, key accounts, and e-commerce.
• Exposure to private label, owned brands, contract manufacturing, or external product-development partners.
• Saudi or GCC market experience and a practical understanding of local consumer and channel dynamics.
• A track record of building teams, processes, and capability without relying on extensive multinational infrastructure.
• The confidence to work hands-on, make decisions with imperfect information, and earn influence across commercially driven stakeholders.
