This full-time Microbiologist GF role is based in Makkah, with a preference for candidates in Jeddah or those willing to relocate to Jeddah.

Role Overview

The Microbiologist GF will be responsible for performing microbiological analysis and ensuring compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing laboratory operations, maintaining quality systems, and supporting various quality initiatives within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and test samples according to approved sampling plans, laboratory procedures, ISO requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Perform microbiological analysis of finished products, raw materials, ingredients, water, surfaces, air, rework, and other relevant samples, ensuring full traceability.
• Review, interpret, and evaluate laboratory results against established standards, identifying deviations and communicating findings to Quality Assurance and stakeholders.
• Prepare and authorize laboratory reports, maintain accurate test records, and provide analytical insights, trends, and reports to support business decisions.
• Coordinate laboratory testing activities to ensure accurate and timely results, supporting investigations into product or process quality issues.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and traceability through LIMS, SAP, and other quality management systems.
• Support proficiency testing, external laboratory activities, validation studies, and technical audits.
• Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, and other stakeholders to support new product development, supplier approvals, and quality initiatives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory quality systems in line with ISO 17025, Good Laboratory Practices, and company standards.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating effectively, while managing consumables, chemicals, media, and laboratory resources.
• Promote a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment, adhering to HSE, food safety, food defense, and quality requirements.
• Support the development of new methodologies, technologies, and process improvements, providing technical guidance and training when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in microbiology, laboratory operations, food quality, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements and laboratory quality management systems.
• Experience working with laboratory systems such as LIMS and SAP.
• Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate to Jeddah.
