About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Jeddah is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I to join its Nursing Recruitment and Retention team. This full-time position is central to providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the established nursing process, and consistently meeting professional standards of practice and performance. The Staff Nurse I is also expected to demonstrate leadership competencies when assigned in charge or acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care as assigned, adhering to core standards of patient care, established policies, and evidence-based practices.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, including discharge planning for each patient.
• Contribute to decreasing the length of stay and waiting times as per unit-specific goals, in collaboration with Case Management.
• Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve constant improvement in quality patient care.
• Act as an advocate for patients and families.
• Identify ideas to improve the quality of patient care and issues that could negatively affect patient care outcomes, using the professional practice framework.
• Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.
• Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
• Contribute to cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization.
• Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.

Professional Practice and Development

• Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Participate in new staff and nursing student orientation, acting as a preceptor or mentor to develop competence.
• Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
• Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and professional practice models.
• Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship, in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Staff Nurse I position are required to have 2-5 years of relevant experience in nursing. A strong foundation in comprehensive nursing care and adherence to professional standards are essential for success in this role.

All Staff Nurses are expected to strictly follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high standards of care and operational efficiency within King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center.
