About the Role

Salt is seeking an experienced Teradata DBA Administrator & Hardware Support professional for a contract position in the Makkah region, covering Jeddah and Makkah. This role involves taking ownership of the administration, monitoring, performance, maintenance, and L2/L3 support for the client's Teradata Vantage platform.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work across both production and non-production environments. This includes supporting Teradata Vantage 16/*, IntelliFlex, VMware, and the broader Teradata ecosystem. A primary focus will be ensuring high availability, optimal performance, robust security, and overall operational stability of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer Teradata Vantage 16/* across IntelliFlex and VMware environments.
• Manage and support Viewpoint, QueryGrid, Data Mover, BCM, and Data Stream Utility.
• Monitor system health, query performance, and resource utilization using Teradata Viewpoint.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and TASM/workload management.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes using Data Stream Utility and BCM.
• Support data migration, replication, and refresh activities using Data Mover.
• Configure and support QueryGrid for cross-platform data access.
• Manage database users, roles, permissions, and security controls.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and platform maintenance, ensuring compatibility across the Teradata ecosystem.
• Provide L2/L3 production and non-production support, troubleshooting database, platform, and infrastructure issues.

Required Experience

• 5–10 years of hands-on Teradata DBA / platform administration experience.
• Strong experience with Teradata Vantage 16/*.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments and resolving complex infrastructure/database issues.

Technical Proficiencies

• Hands-on experience with Teradata Viewpoint, QueryGrid, Data Mover, Business Continuity Manager (BCM), Data Stream Utility, IntelliFlex, and VMware.
• Strong SQL, performance tuning, and workload management/TASM capabilities.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, CLIv2, and data integration technologies.

Contract Details

This is a contract position based in the Makkah region, with work locations in Jeddah and Makkah. The salary for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
