Transportation Manager

About the Role

Abdul Latif Jameel Enterprises is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee domestic transportation operations across Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and involves ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and reliable fleet and subcontracted transport services that meet both customer and operational requirements.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of domestic transportation, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to regulatory standards. The Transportation Manager will be responsible for both owned fleet management and the oversight of subcontracted carriers to deliver high-quality transport services.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage transportation capacity, routes, dispatching, driver allocation, and delivery execution throughout KSA.
• Oversee owned fleet and subcontracted carriers, including service levels, rates, documentation, and performance.
• Provide timely operational reports and escalate any capacity, safety, cost, or service risks.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, vehicle standards, driver requirements, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain productive relationships with authorities, workshops, fleet providers, and transport subcontractors.
• Control fleet utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance, idle time, empty kilometers, claims, fines, and overall transport costs.
• Lead incident management, service recovery efforts, and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Develop supervisors, dispatchers, and drivers through clear targets, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Utilize transport management systems, telematics, route optimization, and driver performance data to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in transportation management.
