About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Rooms to join their team in Medina, Almadinah Almunawwarah. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and functions as the strategic business leader for the property's Rooms department, focusing on planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the quality of the property's rooms.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Rooms works with direct reports to develop and implement departmental strategies, ensuring alignment with the brand service strategy and initiatives. This role is crucial for meeting brand standards, customer needs, and employee satisfaction, while also maximizing revenue and financial performance.

• Champion the brand’s service vision for product and service delivery.
• Communicate departmental goals clearly and consistently to achieve desired results.
• Make and execute decisions to advance property goals.
• Monitor and promote room rates, specials, and promotions.
• Analyze service issues and identify trends to develop operational strategies.
• Review and audit expenses to manage profitability.
• Monitor Rooms operations sales performance against budget and review financial statements.
• Coach and support the operations team in managing occupancy, rate, wages, and controllable expenses.
• Demonstrate and communicate key drivers of guest satisfaction.
• Deliver excellent customer service and encourage the same from other employees.
• Review guest feedback with the leadership team and ensure appropriate corrective action.
• Coordinate and communicate event details to customers and property operations.
• Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters for Room duties.
• Facilitate creative solutions to overcome obstacles and improve guest satisfaction.

Human Resources Management

• Interview and hire employees.
• Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees.
• Ensure regular, ongoing communication within Rooms (*, pre-shift briefings, staff meetings).
• Foster employee commitment to excellent service and model desired service behaviors.
• Incorporate guest satisfaction into staff/operations meetings.
• Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process.
• Solicit employee feedback, utilize an “open door policy,” and review employee satisfaction results.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, and disciplinary procedures are followed.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports.
• Champion change and ensure brand and regional business initiatives are implemented.
• Identify talents of direct reports and their teams, assisting with growth and development plans.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
• Demonstrated strategic leadership in a Rooms department.
• Proven ability to manage profitability and revenue goals.
• Strong focus on ensuring and providing exceptional customer service.
• Experience in managing and conducting human resources activities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Almadinah Almunawwarah, within the hospitality industry. The role involves working closely with a team to uphold and enhance the brand's standards and customer experience.
