Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah Al Manwarah. This full-time role involves carrying out maintenance, modification, overhauling, and installation activities on mechanical machinery to ensure effective functionality and reliability. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to execute maintenance, modification, overhauling, and installation tasks on mechanical machinery. All activities must adhere to standard operating procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to achieve optimal functionality and reliability of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily and routine preventative mechanical maintenance work according to established schedules and ACWA NOMAC procedures to support continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all machines in the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Respond to mechanical failures and implement corrective actions in line with procedures to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including diagnosis, repair, and inspection for corrosion, cracks, leaks, and failures, performing necessary routine repairs.
• Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure, such as defective parts, and perform adjustments, alignment, oiling, greasing, and boiling in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Interpret technical manuals, mechanical diagrams, and machinery drawings to execute maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Check necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.
• Update the maintenance logbook with details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and machine conditions.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, programs, and projects.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to quality and HSE standards.

Additional Duties

The Mechanical Technician may be required to perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
