Assistant Manager - Training at Marriott International

Marriott International is seeking an Assistant Manager - Training to join the team in Makkah. This full-time role is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are ready to contribute to employee and organizational development within the hospitality sector.

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager - Training supports the identification and addressing of employee and organizational development needs. This position is instrumental in ensuring effective training programs are in place to achieve desired business results. Training initiatives cover a range of topics, including product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills. The role involves conducting needs assessments, designing and developing training programs, and facilitating both custom and corporate training deliveries, while also measuring their effectiveness to ensure a return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and inform employees about available training programs.
  • Exhibit leadership in guest hospitality and excellent customer service, fostering a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Guide employees in identifying specific behaviors that contribute to service excellence.
  • Ensure employees receive continuous training to understand and meet guest expectations.
  • Utilize effective training methods to ensure employees comprehend and can demonstrate guest satisfaction skills.
  • Collaborate regularly with the training cadre to support ongoing training efforts.
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback to individuals and managers.

Training Program Development and Evaluation

  • Monitor enrollment and attendance for training sessions.
  • Meet with participants to assess progress and address any concerns.
  • Partner with operational leaders to evaluate employees' demonstration of effective technical and leadership skills.
  • Review guest feedback, satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Measure the transfer of learning from training courses into operational practice.
  • Ensure adult learning principles are integrated into all training programs.
  • Identify performance gaps and collaborate with managers to develop and implement appropriate training solutions.
  • Assist in adjusting training methodologies and conducting re-training as necessary.
  • Align current training and development programs to effectively impact key business indicators.
  • Develop specific training initiatives to enhance service performance and drive brand values and philosophy.

Budget Management

  • Support the development of the training budget.
  • Assist in managing the budget in alignment with Human Resources and property financial objectives.
  • Help manage departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Utilize P-card as appropriate for monitoring departmental expenditures.
