Engineer Technician (Kitchen)

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Engineer Technician (Kitchen) to join their team in Makkah. This full-time role involves responding to and resolving guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the proper functioning of various systems and equipment within the property. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and address guest repair requests, resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Transport equipment such as tools and radios, and identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to employees on other shifts using appropriate communication programs and standards.
• Perform highly complex repairs of physical property, electrical systems, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration systems, and pool heaters, ensuring compliance with company standards and codes.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform basic repairs on various types of equipment, plumbing, and electrical components.
• Perform Engineer on Duty tasks, including readings and rounds.

Technical Aptitude and Skills

• Advanced aptitude for reading basic blueprints and electrical diagrams related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Above-average aptitude in engineering operations and solid general mechanical aptitude.
• Good aptitude in at least three of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy saving, and general building management.
• Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and automatic tools and other materials for repair and maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering software programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
• Advanced aptitude for diagnosing malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Aptitude for training and guiding other engineers as needed.

• Climb and descend stairs, service ramps, or ladders, and reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting at the waist, crawling, and leaning.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in hotel engineering/maintenance.
• Certifications: Valid driver's license and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification.
• Compliance: Must meet state and federal certification or licensing requirements.
• Desirable Skills: Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electricity, or refrigeration; inventory and ordering parts; exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, within the Marriott International team. The role requires active participation in maintaining property standards and ensuring guest satisfaction through effective maintenance operations.
