About Lucid and the Role

Lucid is focused on creating advanced mobility experiences through innovation, leveraging proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture. The company designs and builds vehicles that emphasize range, performance, design, and space. This is achieved through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production managed in-house across global facilities. Lucid is seeking a General Assembly Quality Manager to join its team in Makkah, specifically in King Abdullah Economic City. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience.

Role Overview

The General Assembly (GA) Quality Manager is responsible for driving excellence in Quality operations across all General Assembly activities. This role involves coordination, cross-functional leadership, and Quality system implementation to ensure effective in-station Quality control and the deployment of Built-In Quality principles. The manager will oversee Control Point Stations, ensuring feedback and feedforward of Quality findings. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of operational rigor, a quality mindset, and strategic foresight to enhance production readiness and product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor Control Points at strategic locations within General Assembly Manufacturing Operations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define, monitor, and lead Control Point KPIs to assess the effectiveness of problem-solving and action plans in achieving Quality goals.
  • Drive engagement through transparent communication and recognition of team contributions.
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and other stakeholders.
  • Champion safety, Quality, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
  • Define and implement Quality Inspection strategy and standards for Control Points.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workstation layouts aligned with Quality control standards and ergonomic practices.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for supervisors and inspectors in inspection and control methods.
  • Drive robust defect containment, escalation, and resolution processes, ensuring issues are traced to their origin and involving manufacturing teams in problem solving.
  • Specify and deploy tooling, equipment, and inspection systems to meet current and future Quality assurance needs.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in developing and deploying Quality policies, processes, and specifications in coordination with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
  • Promote a culture where Quality Mindset and Built-In Quality are embedded in every process.
  • Ensure regular calibration between Control Point, Customer Acceptance Line, and Lucid Customer Product Audit.
  • Collect and contain Quality findings from Customer Acceptance Line, Lucid Customer Product Audit, and Field Quality findings at Control Points.
  • Ensure regular updates of Control Point Inspection instructions to focus on Quality improvements and high-ranking findings.
  • Implement the Lucid Production System at Control Point Stations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in launching, scaling, or stabilizing Quality Operations Systems and Activities in the automotive industry.
  • Greenfield Launch Experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Experience with Quality Operations and Quality Core Tools.
  • Expertise in Quality control systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing process standardization.
  • Skilled in presentation, written, and verbal communication across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to drive problem solving with cross-functional teams and challenge solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline preferred. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing Quality, incoming quality, Supplier quality, or within a high-volume OEM or Tier 1 environment, with a minimum of 7 years within an OEM.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience in a manufacturing, Quality, launch, supplier Quality, or incoming Quality organization.
  • Strong background in Quality culture and mindset deployment, vehicle inspection, problem solving, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Good understanding of General Assembly processes, including torque requirements.
