ICT / ELV Systems Engineer

About the Role

Egis is seeking an ICT / ELV Systems Engineer to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, covering projects in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves comprehensive responsibility for ICT, ELV, Security, and Special Airport Systems within airport infrastructure and aviation-related projects. The position requires extensive experience in airport environments, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with international and local standards. Candidates must have 5-10 years of experience, with a strong emphasis on proven airport project experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review design documents, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Assess shop drawings and technical submittals for compliance.
• Ensure adherence to project requirements and applicable standards.
• Support value engineering initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor installation activities and conduct thorough inspections.
• Review contractor progress and quality of work.
• Identify and document non-conformities.
• Support testing and commissioning by reviewing procedures and witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Verify system performance and integration.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and planning sessions.
• Support handover activities, including as-built documentation, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, snagging, and final acceptance.

Required Airport Experience

Candidates must demonstrate experience in one or more of the following airport project types. Applications without proven airport project experience will not be considered.

• Cargo Terminals and Logistics Facilities
• Airport Security Facilities
• Airside Infrastructure Projects
• Airport Expansion and Modernization Projects
• Airport Operational Readiness and Transition (ORAT) Activities
• Airport Systems Integration Projects

Technical Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and practical experience in several of the following systems:

• ICT systems: structured cabling, LAN/WAN, data centers, active equipment, wireless, voice and IP telephony, and network security.
• Airport operational systems: FIDS, CUPPS, CUSS, BHS/BRS interfaces, AODB, master clock, and PAVA.
• Security systems: CCTV, access control, PIDS, screening equipment, X-ray, explosive and metal detection, vehicle access control, ANPR, and barriers.
• ELV systems: fire alarm, BMS, IPTV, audiovisual, UPS, integrated platforms, and emergency communication.

Knowledge of Standards and Preferred Experience

Candidates should be familiar with applicable standards and regulations, including ICAO SARPs, IATA Airport Development and Operations Guidelines, FAA Advisory Circulars and design standards, NFPA, IEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards, as well as local building codes, airport security regulations, and aviation authority requirements.

Preferred experience includes involvement in international airport projects, greenfield airport developments, major airport expansion projects, ORAT and airport transition programs, large-scale integrated airport systems, and experience within the GCC region.
