Inspector Mechanical (Saudi National)

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Inspector Mechanical (Saudi National) to join its Construction Supervision team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, and King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on a major infrastructure development project at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), supporting the delivery of roads, utilities, and industrial infrastructure works.

Role Purpose

The Mechanical Inspector will oversee the inspection of mechanical infrastructure installations. This involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Inspector will work closely with the Resident Engineer and project team to ensure all construction works meet high standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor mechanical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Supervise installation activities related to potable water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage networks, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Review and verify materials delivered to site, ensuring they meet project specifications and approvals.
• Witness testing, flushing, pressure testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Identify non-conforming works and assist in tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve site-related technical issues.
• Verify compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship standards.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions related to mechanical works.
• Support the Resident Engineer in achieving project objectives and delivery milestones.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must be Saudi Nationals.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical inspection roles, preferably within infrastructure development projects.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Experience with water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage, and stormwater infrastructure.

Location

This position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, and King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia, focusing on projects within the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).
