Manager Plant Workshop

About the Role

DP World Jeddah is seeking a Manager – Plant Workshop to oversee workshop maintenance operations. This full-time role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on ensuring the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of terminal handling and rolling equipment. The successful candidate will lead workshop teams, implement effective maintenance strategies, and manage resources and costs to support terminal operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage workshop maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Supervise the maintenance of various equipment, including Reach Stackers, Empty Container Handlers, Internal Terminal Vehicles, diesel and electric forklifts, mobile cranes, and buses.
• Plan, assign, and monitor daily workshop activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Provide technical guidance and support for complex repairs, major breakdowns, equipment modifications, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor equipment condition, maintenance costs, and workshop performance, implementing initiatives for productivity and cost efficiency.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment availability, maintenance performance, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to ensure the availability of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
• Lead, supervise, and develop workshop personnel, identifying training needs and strengthening technical competencies.
• Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion of work.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Stores, and other departments to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, technical procedures, and health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency, equipment performance, and asset lifecycle management.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, workshop management, and technical team leadership. A strong background in these areas is essential for contributing to operational excellence within a dynamic terminal environment.
